Peak performance for your hearing technology

Like any advanced electronics, the performance of your hearing technology (e.g. ‘hearing aids’) depends on maintaining its integrity.

If moisture, wax, dead skin or other detritus gets into the electronics, the sound may become muffled, distorted or intermittent. Often these changes will be gradual, and you might not even realise the performance has become sub-optimal. You may even assume you’re just not hearing as well as you once were. At other times, however, the sound may stop abruptly.

We offer a comprehensive repairs and servicing service to get you back up and running as quickly as possible.

In-House Repairs and Servicing

We will always try first to get you up and running in-house, with our 5 Point Check:

Perform a start-up check

Perform a listening check

Check the power supply

Check the sound outlet

Check the microphone

Based on our findings, we will first try to get the device up and running through a combination of cleaning (performed under a microscope) and in-house replacement of parts. If that proves ineffective, we will offer to send it to the manufacturer or an independent repair shop.

Manufacturer Repairs

If we cannot bring your hearing device back to its expected performance in-house, we will offer to send it away to the manufacturer – or sometimes an independent repair shop if your warranty has expired.

Out of warranty repairs

If the repair is outside of a warranty, there will normally be cost associated with the repair. We will try to advise you of this before any work is carried out. Most out-of-warranty repairs come with a 6 month warranty.

Keeping you hearing

Whilst your device is away, we may be able to lend you a hearing system (subject to availability and suitability). We recommend that you allow two weeks for the servicing to be carried out.

Remakes & Reshells

Occasionally a custom device is physically damaged, most often through someone accidentally dropping it. (Dogs also seem to like chewing on hearing devices…)

But sometimes the shape of someone’s ear can change, especially if their weight has changed (e.g. through illness), and the custom device no longer fits as well.

When this is the case, we may be able to have the device remade. Costs for remakes vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, so we’ll try to provide you with a quotation before any work is carried out.
