We are continuing to offer most types of appointment during the current COVID-19 measures.

Hearing plays an essential role in people's physical, psychological and social wellbeing and we are therefore doing everything we can during this time to keep your hearing at its best, whilst keeping you and our staff safe.

The Government classes audiology as an essential service and has advised people to continue to attend their health appointments. We have robust measures in place to help keep everyone safe during your appointment with us, including sterilisation and hygiene processes, social distancing and face protection. We have also structured our appointments to minimise the contact you have with others.

During the first lockdown, before our professional bodies had put in place guidance for safe practice, we had to temporarily close. But since we re-opened in Summer 2020 we have been able to operate safely and uninterrupted.

If you have any concerns about coming in, please feel free to contact us and talk them through with us. It may be that we can offer a non face-to-face appointment, give you advice over the phone or using Zoom/Skype/Facetime or Microsoft Teams. You are also very welcome to post hearing devices in to us for repairs and servicing.

But the most important message is, if you experience a change in your hearing, or experience any ear discomfort, problems with balance, or increases in tinnitus, get in touch immediately.

These issues normally need to be investigated without delay.

Preparing for your appointment

Do not attend if:

  • You have flu like symptoms or high temperature
  • A new, persistent cough
  • A loss of taste or smell
  • You have been in contact with someone known to have COVID-19 within the last 2 weeks

When you attend:

  • You will need to wear a mask during your appointment unless you are exempt
  • You will need to use hand gel when you arrive
  • We may take your temperature
  • We may ask you to wait in your car until we are ready for you

Thank you for your support during these strange times. We greatly appreciate it.
