The evening will begin with a buffet reception with food and drink served by Posh Nosh, after which we will take our places to listen to award-winning author Mark Haddon in converation with Observer writer Rachel Cook.

The author talk is part of this year's Budleigh Salterton Literary Festival which we are helping to sponsor. The Buffet Reception begins at 6.30pm in the Marquee on the Green , The Green, Budleigh Salterton, EX9 6RJ.

Author Mark Haddon

About Mark Haddon

Mark Haddon is the author of the novels The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, A Spot of Bother and The Red House. He’s also written 15 books for children and won two BAFTAs for his screenplays. His best-selling novel The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time won 17 literary prizes and was adapted into a hugely successful play for the National Theatre.

His current book is The Piers Falls, which has been receiving enviable reviews from readers and experts alike.

Mark will be in conversation on the evening with Observer writer Rachel Cook.
