This year we’re supporting the Budleigh Salterton Literature Festival, taking place 15-18 September 2016, and we're really looking forward to it. We've organised some exciting opportunities for you to experience the festival for yourself, and I'd like to tell you a bit about them.
Now in it's 8th year, the Festival brings a notable selection of well-known and new authors from the worlds of literature, philosophy, politics, science, maths and history, to talk about their latest books in front of a live audience.
It's the chance to meet your favourite author or discover someone new with authors this year including Helen Rappaport, Marcus du Sautoy Hilary Mantel, Tom Bower, Deborah Moggach, Virginia Baily, Jenny Balfour Paul, Alexandra Harris, Juliet Nicolson, Mike Brealey, Peter Snowden and Jackie Kay. And thats' just the first two days! You can find a full list of the authors at the Festival Website.
Or you can pick up a programme from our Exeter practice.
We wanted to support this event, not only because we know that many of our clients enjoy reading or have themselves written books, but also because books are about words, and words are central to human potential, and Audify® is about both.
If you enjoy books, we'd love to see you there! So we have organised two opportunities especially for you.
We'll be hosting a special evening reception on Saturday 17th in support of our charity of the year, Hearing Link.
The evening will begin with a buffet reception in the Marquee on the Green, after which we will take our places to listen to award-winning author Mark Haddon in converation with Observer writer Rachel Cook at St Peter's Church.
Tickets are £30 per person and all proceeds will be given to the charity Hearing Link. Places are limited to 50 people and are on a first-come-first-served basis. Final numbers must be confirmed by Wednesday 31st August 2016.
How would you like to win a pass to all the talks over this year's festival, together with three night luxury B&B accommodation in Budleigh Salterton?
Just tell us in 500 words or less how the hearing of words has shaped your life. It may be something specific, like an event or something you heard that changed things for you, or it may be something more general like how it keeps you connected to people or opportunities.
The winner will receive two exclusive Festival Passes (not normally available!) that will enable you to attend all or any of the events over the fours day, plus three nights accommodation for two people.
